In Hogwarts Legacy, players encounter various environmental puzzles during main story quests that test their spellcasting abilities and problem-solving skills. One of the most notable obstacles occurs during The High Keep quest, where you must figure out how to climb the battlements of Falbarton Castle. Mastering this climbing sequence is essential for advancing the narrative and unlocking key gameplay features.

Finding the High Keep Location

The High Keep quest becomes available mid-way through the main campaign after completing earlier seasonal milestones. To begin the objective, travel to Falbarton Castle, which is situated northeast of Hogsmeade in the eastern highlands. Meeting Natty near the ruined fortification initiates the mission to infiltrate the stronghold and rescue captive magical creatures.

Solving the Initial Battlement Puzzle

To reach the upper ramparts, you must interact with the environmental objects using specific force spells. First, locate the spinning mechanism near the iron gate and cast Depulso repeatedly to rotate it, which reveals a moveable crate inside a small chamber. Once the crate is exposed, use Accio to pull it out toward your position so it can be repositioned as a climbing platform.

Proper Spellwork for Vertical Elevation

Positioning the crate beneath the high ledge requires combining placement spells with levitation charms. You should use Wingardium Leviosa to guide the block directly under the ruined wall section. The final critical step requires casting Levioso to make the box float steadily at an elevated height, allowing your character to jump up and clamber onto the upper battlement.

Advancing Through Falbarton Castle

After scaling the initial wall, you will need to open the main gatehouse to let Natty join your progression. Inside the gatehouse, repeatedly cast Depulso on the mechanism to fully raise the gate, then instantly cast Accio on the wall ring to secure it in place. Successfully navigating these ruins eventually leads to the roof, rewarding your efforts with the unlockable Hippogriff flying mount.
